Emily can moonwalk.

Emily taught herself to play the banjo by reading books.

Emily and her husband Charlie have a ranch down in Texas.

In their pre-fame days, Emily drove the Chicks' pink RV and did their taxes (during this time, both Emily and the band were audited).

Emily wrote most of the lyrics to "You Were Mine" but Martie wrote the bridge.  The sisters say that the song was (unconsciously) inspired by their parents' divorce.

In school Emily was an "Orch Dork" because she played in the school orchestra.

Emily once got pulled over for making an illegal U-turn and tried to bribe the police officer with a Chicks CDs, but he already had all of them.

Emily on one of the Chicks' worst gigs: "'We were playing this open casket  funeral....They paid us $100, so we did it. I was probably 17, 18 years old. We sang Bette Midler's 'The Rose' with banjos and fiddles.'"

Emily would describe herself as the pragmatic one of the group.
